Eligibility Policy

Eligibility Policy

At the beginning of the new quizzing year, coaches and parents often have questions about a teenager’s eligibility to quiz with their church team. This statement will address CMD’s position on these matters and the philosophy of growth and expansion of Bible quizzing within our district.

1. North American Christian and Missionary Alliance quizzing programs have been built around Alliance church youth groups involving quizzers ages 12 to 19 and in grades seven to 12. To be eligible to attend District Quiz Meets, students must be 12 years old by January 31 of the quizzing year and be in grade seven. In this way, participation in CMD as a quizzer is intended to be for a maximum of six years. Extenuating circumstances regarding a quizzer’s eligibility may be considered at the CMD committee’s discretion. Any exceptions regarding eligibility requirements must be approved by the CMD committee and the local head coach involved.

2. Quizzers are required to participate in their home church programs. If a church does not have a Bible quiz program, youth from that church are encouraged to join a program closest to their home church.

3. While CMD Bible Quizzing is a ministry of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, churches from other denominations are welcome to join us.

Youth from non-Alliance churches and who do not have quizzing in their home church may request to join an existing program. The decision rests with the head coach of that program.

The QuizSafe protection policy is distributed to the head coaches of each church. Alternatively, please email the executive committee to access the QuizSafe policy.
